Cities like Wilmington desperately need economic development in former industrial areas that once housed massive factories but now are plagued by under-development and crime (or at least the perception of it).
There are in fact dozens of thriving companies doing good work in these forgotten corners of Wilmington. We welcome as our September speaker, Mr. Simon Cranny, the founder of one of them, Precision Color Graphics.
In 2010, Cranny happily chose to renovate an abandoned factory and move PCG to one of the "roughest areas" of Wilmington. As quoted in the News Journal he "couldn't be happier."
Simon will focus on some of the lessons his company learned, creating traditional jobs, thriving in areas of the City deemed by many to be dangerous, and working with the City to get through the process of renovating a former industrial property.
Join us on the 25th. It's going to be another fun-filed event packed with people interested in Wilmington.
